Welcome to the Camarda difference and thanks for taking the time to chat with me today. I’m really looking forward to sharing how the power of Camarda’s total wealth care can simplify and enrich your life. I’ll walk you through our brochure to see if we could be a better fit for you, and if you like what you hear, I’ll collect some data to see if we can find a better way to get you where you want to go. Fair enough.

With the magic of total wealth care, you may find Camarda is like no other advisor you’ve ever seen. We could be the advisor you’ve always wanted but could never find. And there are five big reasons for this.

First, fiduciaries like Camarda are legally obligated to always put your interests first, and you may be surprised to learn that’s not true for some 90% of advisors, who can put their own commissions and other interests ahead of your own. They’re either total commission advisors or, worse, two-hat fiduciaries who can later switch hats and sell you high-commission products. Camarda doesn’t play that game. What you see is what you get: clear and transparent compensation aligned with what’s best for you always. Isn’t that refreshing?

It’ll probably also surprise you to learn how easy it is to get investment licenses. No experience, formal education, or even a clean criminal record is required. And with just a few weekends and a study guide, many advisors pass the first time. That gives them a license to advise you, but not much knowledge on how to do it.

This is complicated stuff: tax law, risky markets, complex calculations, all kinds of things that need to be balanced to get the results that you want and need. Camarda is trained like no advisor you’ve probably ever met. We’re led by a PhD in financial planning and a Chartered Financial Analyst on the team. The CFA is recognized as the global standard for portfolio expertise, but only about 2% of financial advisors have the CFA. But you’re paying for investment advice—doesn’t it make sense to work with an advisor who can prove they’re highly trained in investments?

Finding CFA-grade fiduciaries is hard enough, but don’t you want one expert in all the other areas you probably care about too, like estate and trust, asset protection, insurance, tax, retirement, and so on? It can seem impossible, and many investors may just give up. But that’s a big difference Camarda brings to the table for you: one-stop, one quarterback, one team to organize and simplify your financial life with one clear objective—growing your family wealth with the least expense, risk, and hassle possible.

Compared to average advisors, who focus on just a few areas like portfolio management, often without much training even in that, we think you’ll really like the power that our total wealth care can deliver.

Another big difference is our proactive portfolio management, designed not just to make money, but also to preserve it. Look at the graph bar under the red arrow that represents the last tech crash. Remember the dot-com bubble? Tech stocks plunged 78%, and it took a 355% gain in 15 years to break even. At this point in your life, with all that’s going on in the world, do you really want to play that game?

Most advisors, perhaps because of a lack of trading, seem to have a “hang in there, buy and hold” mentality. We call that “hold and pray,” and think it’s very dangerous. We manage money a different way. We watch your indicators regularly and stand ready to make moves designed not only to make money, but also to control losses and preserve it. At Camarda, there’s only one thing more important than making you money—and that’s helping you keep your money.

Here’s the basics of how we use technical indicators to hedge the downside and strategize to control losses. This is a simple example; our actual methods are proprietary but more complex, but the example is easy to follow. The top graph is the indicator. If it passes the red line on the way down, it’s a sell signal. When it passes the green line on the way up, it’s a buy. The performance of the S&P 500 over the same time is on the lower graph. Note that over this 23-year period, it only flashed sell five times. But that could have made a huge difference to you. If you’d followed the buy-and-hold approach like most advisors and put $100,000 in the S&P 500, it would have grown to about $400,000 by the middle of 2022, as the black line shows. That’s before tax and inflation. But if you’d been on the blue line, using the same investments but just getting out of the way the five times the indicator flashed, avoiding those big negative crash rides, instead of about $400,000, you’d have over $2 million. That can be the power of proactive portfolio management, and it seems like it could be a better way to go.

The fifth big difference is consistent national recognition, decade after decade. It’s one thing for an advisor to say how great they are, but I think you’d agree it means a whole lot more when respected national sources consistently recognize the advisor over the years. Camarda has been repeatedly named a top advisor by the likes of Forbes, Barron’s, and more. Dr. Camarda is an award-winning academic researcher on advisor training and ethics. He’s written hundreds of published articles, studies, and white papers, including writing a column on advanced wealth for Forbes for years. His last book, The Financial Storm Warning for Investors, was an Amazon bestseller. We’ve been repeatedly featured or interviewed at Barron’s, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and many more. That’s a pretty impressive track record, especially for a totally independent, pure fiduciary advisor.

So let’s recap the five big Camarda differences that could make us a better fit for you:

  1. Pure, no-commission fiduciary—your wealth always comes first.

  2. Education and expertise that you have a hard time finding anywhere else.

  3. Expertise in all the total wealth care planning areas that you need—not just portfolio.

  4. Portfolio advice designed not just to make good returns, but also intended to preserve your wealth.

  5. Decades of validation by respected national media.

I think you’ll agree Camarda is a very different kind of advisor. Let’s do a 360 review. It only takes about 15 minutes to collect the data we need. This service is totally free, and you’ll get a few thousand dollars’ worth of valuable advice, including on critical opportunities that probably nobody else has uncovered for you. We’ll cover:

  • Estate planning for family protection and avoiding expensive probate

  • Asset protection from lawsuits and predators

  • Smart ways to convert income and estate taxes to family wealth

  • Stress testing your portfolio for hidden costs

  • Investment rankings, fees, commissions, and more

  • Astute retirement income advice, including Roth conversions

  • Input on insurance and risk management

  • And much more

We can even do a deep dive on advisor fiduciary stress testing to compare Camarda to your old advisor or other options you may be considering.

One last thing before I get to the wealth 360: a lot of folks ask what the process would be if they decide to give us a try. It’s pretty simple. Very easy. We just need to set up the appropriate accounts at a respected independent custodian, like Schwab, in your name of course. Build the custom portfolio plan with a written policy statement as your master investment blueprint. Build a customized wealth management plan for estate, tax, asset protection, and so on, based on your opportunities and personal goals. Deliver your scheduled total wealth care no less than quarterly using a team-based Cur approach that pulls in specialty teams and resources as needed. After we set up your master total wealth care plan, we implement it like this: here’s our master planning calendar, and we’ll hit all these key areas and lots more as hard as you want each quarter.

Thanks so much for listening and learning about us. I hope you like what you hear. Now let us better learn about where you are and where you want to go and start finding ways to get you there faster and easier.
